Welcome! Thank you for your interest in the Lowcountry Food Bank's 1st annual Student Food Drive! Set to kick off on September 17th, the Student Food Drive is a six-week hunger relief campaign designed to empower high school students. This initiative will engage business and community leaders and regional food banks in acts of volunteerism, food collection, awareness building and fundraising dedicated to fighting hunger in their very own community. With the help of a faculty advisor, students plan events to promote the drive, organize their food collection, and package and deliver food to the food bank.
The Student Food Drive develops student leadership through a series of student created and driven events that center around creativity, entertainment, communications, business practices, purchase negotiations, fundraising and social concerns. Students collect food through creative events such as sporting events, dances, silent auctions and more. Furthermore, this will enable the high schools to work closely with their feeder schools to bring in more donations. Students are also encouraged to collect monetary donations to be used to purchase food in large quantities. The Lowcountry Food Bank is thrilled to announce the following participating schools!

On October 28th and 29th, the schools will schedule a time with the LCFB to unload truckloads of collected food. On the night of October 29th, from 6 pm to 8 pm, an Awards Party will conclude the competition. Student leadership participants, advisors and sponsors will join the LCFB and the final collection totals will be announced along with awards for the winning schools.
