Okra Grill Healthy Charleston Challenge: Enjoy some good 'ol southern cooking with a healthy twist at Okra Grill (794 Coleman Boulevard, Mt. Pleasant)! Every day, Okra Grill will feature a meal that abides by the "Healthy Charleston Challenge" guidelines -- which is a program designed to increase accountability for healty lifestyle habits. Fifty cents of each meal will be donated back to the food bank.
Bi-Lo Booster Plus Campaign:The Lowcountry Food Bank will receive a percentage of an individual's purchase each time they use their Bi-Lo bonuscard while shopping at any Bi-Lo or Super Bi-Lo stores. Move for Hunger: By Teaming up with Wheaton Worldwide moving, Move for Hunger and the Lowcountry Food Bank will help those in need of food assistance in the Lowcountry! MOVE For HUNGER will enlist those who are selling their homes and relocating to donate unopened food that they will not take to their new destination. Wheaton's professional moving staff will assist in boxing the donations. MOVE For HUNGER will then make arrangements for these items to be delivered to the LCFB. Huggies "Every Little Bottom" Campaign (ongoing): Diaper need is the struggle to provide babies with an essential need - diapers. Some mothers face having to clean out and reuse soiled diapers or have to choose between diapers and other basic needs like food. HUGGIES® recently conducted a studythat found 1 in 3 American moms have had to face this choice. You can help make a difference -- Purchase a box of diapers here and they will be shipped directly to the LCFB and given to a mother in need.
