Donating to the Lowcountry Food Bank-- The DO's and DON'Ts

Do's

  1. The Lowcountry Food Bank accepts only non-perishable food items from food drives. If you want to donate perishable items, please drop them off immediately so that we can store them safely.
  2. Please donate foods you would like to eat.
  3. We also accept cash donations. For every $1 donation, we can provide an anti-hunger agency with $20 market value of food
  4. Most needed items are:

Protein Products

  • Canned Meat
  • Beef stew, chili, soup, chicken
  • Canned Fish
  • Tuna, salmon, sardines
  • Dry Beans
  • Peanut butter

Fruits & Vegetables

  • Canned fruits
  • Canned vegetables
  • Canned juices
  • Spaghetti sauce
  • Jelly and jam

Bread, Flour & Cereals

  • Baking mix
  • Dry cereal
  • Rice
  • Pasta
  • Sugar

Dairy Products

  • Shelf stable milk
  • Evaporated milk
  • Powdered milk

Don'ts

  1. We cannot accept home canned or jarred products.
  2. We cannot distribute cans without labels. All donations need to be in their original packaging with labels.
  3. We cannot distribute any opened products.
