Empty Bowls, Empty Plates
As part of their Tzedakah project (community outreach and service learning), Addlestone Hebrew Academy students have launched an "Empty Bowls, Empty Plates" initiative to raise awareness for childhood hunger. Using donated bowls and plates from Publix and art supplies from Artist and Craftsman, students have collaged bowls using magazine clippings, stickers, and other embellishments. The bowls, representative of the many "empty bowls" in the community, will be auctioned off with proceeds going to one of the Lowcountry Food Bank's childhood hunger programs, BackPack Buddies, which combats weekend hunger for lowcountry children. The auction will be held at the Addlestone Hebrew Academy at 7pm on January 31. The community is invited and encouraged to attend!
