Childhood Hunger in the Lowcountry

Hunger and malnutrition strike nearly one in four children in our community. The Lowcountry Food Bank is dedicated to fighting childhood hunger. Kids Cafe, an innovative after-school program that provides hot, nutritious meals and academic assistance, and BackPack Buddies, a program designed to attack the issue of weekend hunger, are our central tools in the effort to end childhood hunger. Nearly 3,000 children are served each week through both programs.

The Lowcountry Food Bank cannot do it alone! The 11th annual Chefs’ Feast Gala will help raise the much needed funds for Kids Cafe and BackPack Buddies. Led by Chef Robert Carter of Peninsula Grill, the Lowcountry’s most acclaimed chefs will once again join together to fight childhood hunger and celebrate an evening of exquisite food and quality entertainment.
